Buy NowWe didn't reinvent rattlesnake avoidance training — we advanced it. Every element of our program exists because we asked how it could be done better.
We charge more than some because we provide an expanded service, spending more time with your dog on a longer course, and taking the extra time with each dog for proofing to ensure that each dog is prepared for rattlesnake identification and avoidance based on all 3 senses. The difference is a much more effective program.
Most programs expose dogs to one or two encounters. Ours progresses through 12 distinct stations — each designed to build, reinforce, and stress-test avoidance behavior across varied scenarios and distances.
Our snakes are housed in purpose-built containment units that prioritize safety without compromising efficacy. Because the snakes aren't muzzled or restrained, their behavior is entirely natural — and that authenticity is exactly what the training requires.
Sight, sound, and scent — your dog encounters a rattlesnake the same way they would in the wild. Partial exposure leaves gaps. We close them.
For avoidance conditioning, e-collar (P+) combined with reward-based (R+) methods produces faster acquisition and superior retention compared to positive reinforcement alone. This is what the research shows — and what we practice.
Every session is staffed by professional handlers operating at the highest safety standards — within a controlled private ranch setting. The combination of expert handling and purpose-built locations makes a safer, more consistent experience for every dog.
Our outcomes aren't anecdotal. Behavioral avoidance is confirmed at 12–18 months post-training. The methodology, results, and retention data are published in our efficacy report.
All classes run Saturdays. Select a date to see available time slots. If booking multiple dogs, make sure there's back-to-back timeslots for each dog.
We know our prices aren't the lowest — and that's because we provide more for you. Our 12-station course spends significantly more time with your dog, proofing each sense individually. That level of conditioning takes longer, and it's something you simply won't get from a $150 course.
You're getting what you pay for — either a rattlesnake training that might help your dog, or the training that absolutely maximizes your dog's chances of avoiding rattlesnakes. If you're going to do this for your dog, do it right — book the better course.
Classes fill fast — especially in spring and fall.
