Scott with a hunting dog owner and his bird dog after private rattlesnake avoidance training

We Come To You

Train Where the Real Encounter
Will Actually Happen.

Not a ranch. Not a parking lot. Your own yard, your own trail — the exact ground your dog already walks. We bring the live rattlesnakes, the secure containment, and the full 12-station course to you.

Private On-Location Training

The full course. Your actual property.

Every ranch class works. But your dog isn't going to meet a rattlesnake at our ranch — it's going to meet one in your own yard, on your own hiking trail, near your own wood pile. With a private on-location session, that's exactly where the training happens. We travel within 100 miles of Santa Clarita and bring everything: live rattlesnakes, our custom secure-containment units, and every piece of equipment the full 12-station course needs.

Your dog is introduced to a live rattlesnake across all three sensory channels — scent, sound, and sight — then guided through avoidance conditioning until the response holds. Every rattlesnake stays inside secure containment the entire time. No muzzles. Zero bites in class, ever.

Same one-on-one, 12-station method that's trained hundreds of dogs at our ranch — just run on the ground your dog will actually be defending.

A Higher Tier of Training

Your dog's stations, built from your dog's actual terrain.

Our ranch class is real, rigorous training — the same one-on-one, 12-station method that's worked for hundreds of dogs. A private on-location session is a step above it: instead of running the course on our 20 acres, we build every station out of the rocks, brush, and trail your dog already patrols — the exact ground where it's most likely to actually encounter a rattlesnake.

That's not a small distinction. A learned response is always most reliable in the setting it was trained in — so training on your own property means your dog isn't just avoidance-trained in general, it's avoidance-trained here, on your land, where it counts.

Why Train At Home

Built for your property, your pack, and your schedule.

Zero Generalization Gap

Your dog learns to recognize a rattlesnake in the exact rocks, brush, and trail it already patrols — not a ranch it's never seen before.

We Bring Everything

Live snakes, custom ¼-inch wire containment units, and all equipment travel to you. Nothing to set up — just point us to the space.

Whole Pack, One Visit

Up to 10 dogs per session (kept lower than our usual max to manage heat safely) — bring every dog you own, or split the visit with neighbors who want their dogs trained too.

True Privacy

No other families waiting, no other dogs' scent trails to confuse the lesson. Just your dog, your trainer, and your property.

A Calmer Classroom

Dogs learn best when they're not also adjusting to a brand-new place. Familiar ground means a more relaxed, more food-motivated, faster-learning dog.

Flexible Scheduling

Not limited to weekend ranch slots. We arrange a date and time that works for you, your family, and any neighbors who want in.

The Method

Scent. Sound. Sight. Then full exposure.

The full 12-station live-snake course conditions your dog to recognize and avoid a rattlesnake through every sense it would use in a real encounter — then proves the response until it holds, right there on your property.

01 · Scent

Your dog learns the unmistakable scent of a rattlesnake — the first and most powerful trigger for avoidance in the wild.

02 · Sound

We train your dog to recognize the rattle and flee — before a strike is ever possible.

03 · Sight

Your dog learns to visually recognize the shape and movement of a rattlesnake, reinforcing avoidance even at a distance.

Real terrain. Real dogs. Real results.
Which One Is Right for You?

Both work. One is built for your ground.

Our ranch classes are the same rigorous, one-on-one, 12-station course — and they're the right call for plenty of dogs and families. A private on-location session is worth the difference in price when the terrain itself is part of what needs training.

What to expect when we arrive.

🚶
We Tour The Property
The moment we arrive, we'll walk your property together so you can show us the ground your dog actually covers — trails, yard, wood piles, anywhere a rattlesnake could turn up.
🗺️
We Plan The Course
Our team walks the property to lay out the full 12-station course — built around your actual terrain instead of a fixed layout.
🐍
We Build The Course
We set up every station and bring in the snakes, all inside secure containment, right on the ground your dog will actually be defending.

We Gather Final Details
Quick last check on your dog — temperament, triggers, anything we should know — so the session is dialed in before we start.
🐾
We Meet Your Dog
Treats, a proper introduction, and a calibrated e-collar fitting — with more treats along the way. Then a slip lead goes on and we get started.
🎓
We Train Station By Station
Together, we walk the course station by station — pairing a mild aversive with "this is bad," and praise and treats with "this is good," every time your dog retreats from the snake or a snake-related cue.
Questions

Private booking FAQs.

How much space do I actually need?
Roughly a clear pathway of about 200 yards, or about ½ acre or more of private property. Not sure yours qualifies? Check the box that's closest when you book — we'll confirm by phone or text before your date is finalized, and issue a full refund if it turns out your property doesn't have enough room.
What if my property doesn't qualify?
You get a full refund, no hassle. We'd rather confirm your space works before we drive out than run a session that isn't set up to succeed.
How far will you travel?
Anywhere within 100 miles of Santa Clarita is included in the flat $750 rate. If you're right on the edge of that radius, call us and we'll confirm before you book.
Can I split the visit with my neighbors?
Yes — one visit covers up to 10 dogs (capped lower than our usual 20-dog max to keep things safe in the heat) at $150/dog after the $750 base fee, and you also get 1% off your total for every dog booked, so splitting a session with neighbors or family nearby is one of the most cost-effective ways to book. Just make sure whoever books has a property that fits the space requirements above.
Why is this only offered on Fridays?
Weekends are reserved for our ranch classes in Santa Clarita. Fridays are set aside specifically for private on-location visits so every session gets our full attention, one property at a time.
What happens after I book?
Your date is held the moment you pay. We call or text within 1 business day to confirm your property details and lock in a specific time for your Friday.
Is it really no muzzles, zero bites?
Yes. Every rattlesnake stays inside secure, custom containment for the entire session — your dog is never within striking distance. That's true at the ranch and at your property.
Would a ranch class work instead?
Often, yes — it's the same rigorous, one-on-one, 12-station course for less per dog. A private on-location session is worth the difference when you want training on your own terrain, have multiple dogs, or want to split a visit with neighbors. See ranch class dates and pricing →
Can I use a discount code?
Discount codes are only valid for classes at our ranch — they aren't accepted on private on-location checkout. Instead, this booking automatically applies 1% off your total per dog, starting at 2 dogs (so 3 dogs = 3% off, 5 dogs = 5% off, and so on). You'll see it reflected in your total before you pay.
