Co-Founder & Lead Trainer at The Snake School for Dogs. 23+ years working with animals — from rescue horses and Hollywood film sets to service dogs and rattlesnake avoidance training.

Britany's connection to animals began before she could even remember it. At age two, she fell into the family pool — and was saved by their Golden Retriever's alert barking. It was the beginning of a bond with animals that would define her entire life.
She grew up between California and her grandparents' farm in Ohio, where she developed a deep, natural instinct for working with animals. By 6th grade she was volunteering at Joleen's Horse Rescue in Chatsworth, CA — educating the public about horse slaughter and caring for neglected horses until they found forever homes. By high school she was working as a Vet Tech, and her path was already clear.
In 2004 she enrolled in a private animal training college and became certified as a handler and conservation advocate for large exotic animals. Though she worked with a wide range of species, canine training was always her specialty. She went on to train animal stars for television and movie productions, built a career in obedience training, and eventually transitioned to service dogs.
In 2018 she became a Certified Service Dog Trainer and founded Cornerstone Companions Service Dogs — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides fully trained service dogs to people in need at no cost to the recipient. She also volunteers with CARDA (California Rescue Dog Association) in search and rescue. In 2020 she started a breeding program to bring genetically tested, temperament-matched dogs into the service program.
Today Britany leads rattlesnake avoidance training with the same philosophy she applies to all her work: positive, high-reliability training tailored to every individual dog. She believes animals are teachers and healers — and that every dog deserves to come home safe.
Britany uses rewards-based techniques grounded in the latest research in animal behavior and psychology. Training is designed to be effective and enjoyable — for dog and owner alike.
No two dogs learn the same way. Britany builds individualized training plans tailored to each dog's temperament, breed, and specific needs — never a one-size-fits-all approach.
Britany works closely with owners throughout the process. The goal isn't just a trained dog — it's an owner who understands their dog and knows how to maintain what was built.
"Animals are here as teachers and healers." Britany's entire career is built on this belief — that the human-animal bond is one of the most powerful forces for good in any person's life.
Britany's training draws on decades of hands-on experience and current science in animal behavior — from film-set precision to service dog reliability to rattlesnake avoidance conditioning.
Avoidance behavior that only works in a classroom is no protection at all. Britany trains for genuine, real-world reliability — the kind that holds when it matters most.
